Reminders no longer sticking to lock screen in iOS 10

I was having the same problem. I deleted only one of my older reminders and re-entered it. Everything after that seem just to fall into place and it has worked fine since....both the reminder count on the app and reminders continually showing on lock screen.

after updating to IOS 11 all works fine for now

My issue is this... I have many Alerts set in Reminders. Don't want them to go away unless I mark them completed. But when they are displayed, and I have to press the Home Button to see another app, the Reminder disappears! It should remain, even if I press the Home Button on my iPad or iPhone.

trying 'todoist and it behave the same way, so it´s a problem deep in the IOS...

my biggest problem is that de badget count isn't on the todoist or reminders app before i open the app and go back to homescreen..

I ran into this issue this week with the latest iOS (10.3.1). I was able to fix it (for now), so figured I would share what I did, maybe it will help others 🙂 I tried a bunch of tips that I found in these threads and none of them helped in my case, but then I tried a couple other things and suddenly reminders started staying on the lock screen again until marked as complete. I tried two different things at once, so I'm not sure which one fixed it, so I'll mention both:

1. Went into Settings > iCloud settings
2. Unchecked "Reminders" from "Apps using iCloud"
3. Selected "Delete from my iPhone" in the prompt
4. Turned "Reminders" back on in iCloud
5. Went to the Reminders app, clicked the bottom of the screen to pull up the Reminders Lists
6. Clicked the + at the top right, Created a new List
7. Set a reminder on the new list
8. Set a reminder in the old "Reminders" list as well
9. Waited for the reminders... and they stuck to the lock screen!

I'm not sure if it was the temporary un-syncing with iCloud or creating a new list and setting a reminder in both that fixed the issue, since I did this all at the same time.

I did delete the new list I created afterwards and everything still works fine.

Just adding here too! I don't think it's an iOS thing since my iPad is on iOS 10.2 and the reminder I have on iCloud is right there on the lock screen. Also, as I searched for this issue on my Mac, on El Capitan, the reminder is sitting in the upper-right hand corner of the screen, even on the lock screen.

I have no clue what changed or what the difference is between devices. Hopefully Apple will have a fix for this little bugger.

I also tried deleting the app, restarting the phone, and then downloading it. So please Apple support, do not tell me to try that.

The original poster is the only one who can mark a thread solved. So, perhaps they thought it did.

Has anyone thoroughly tested iOS 10.3 or 10.3.1 and can tell us FOR SURE that reminders have been fixed?

If so, please share your experience.

Ps. The problem exists and is not just sticking on lock screen. This case is unsolved.

This issue still has not been solved at all. I tried it all: Resetting the phone and installing everything manually, removing reminders from icloud, etc. And still: I dont get reminded by 50% of the tasks and undone tasks dont stick to the lockscreen.

This is basic! This is ridicolous! Apple do something!!! Actually thinking about switching to Android...

Although I switched to S8+ because I nearly lost my job due to missed reminders since 2016!!!(ios10.0), I have not unsubscribed to this thread because I still have an iPad.

I will say to all: contact Apple support.

They don't read the blogs.

They have us here so we can solve problems ourselves.

Unfortunately Apple has fallen and I worry for the worst case scenario: the problem remaining in iOS 11!!!!!!

I figured it out!!! You have to go the Notification Center on your lock screen and go to to the bottom, hit Edit, then add the Reminders widget. Now Reminders are sticking to my regular lock screen again!

If you read the whole thread you will see that ALL possible solutions via settings etc have been tried by the rest of us and none of them worked. The one you mention included plus many many more.

Any fix is temporary and the problem comes back again after a few reminders. This is a well known bug without a well known solution by Apple. Beginning of iOS 10 until end. They just never cared.

Pray for iOS 11.

My solution is NOT through the Settings app. I read through the whole thread and never saw the lock screen Notification Center mentioned. Ive tested it several times and my reminders are sticking for me now, I'll post if it starts failing again.
